Self-Compassion for Anxiety, Depression and Burnout

In this workshop we’ll explore the skill of self-compassion, review some of the research on its utility for mitigating anxiety, depression and burnout, and sample some practices.


Presenter: 

Dr. Tracy Ochester

Tracy Ochester, PsyD is a psychologist in private practice and coordinator of the Midwest Alliance for Mindfulness. She is a Certified Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Teacher and Mentor, a Trained Mindfulness Based Relapse Prevention (MBRP) Teacher, a co-teacher of MSC and MBSR, and a trained yoga teacher. She believes that mindfulness and compassion are pathways to personal and collective wellbeing.

Objectives:

  • List the three main components of self-compassion. 
  • Describe 5 ways self-compassion is correlated in the research with mental health and wellbeing.
  • Identify at least one mindfulness technique that has been shown to increase self-compassion.

LOCATION: Zoom Meeting. Attendees will receive the meeting link in their emails. 

The deadline to register is 6 PM on March 24th.

COST: Free for GKCPA members. $15 for nonmembers/guests.

This is only approved as a live, interactive CE presentation. Participants will have the same physical presence expectations through video that would be required for in-person events to gain CE credit.
