Dr. Long will provide an overarching introduction to incorporating technological opportunities into their careers and maximize their own career satisfaction and wellness. He will also describe how participating in service to the profession through GKCPA and other professional organizations can enhance your career satisfaction.

Teaching Embodied Learning Strategies to Facilitate Practitioner Training - Jennifer Fugate, PhD and co-editor, Sheila L. Macrine, PhD (joining via Zoom)

Co-Editors of Movement Matters: How Embodied Cognition Informs Teaching and Learning

Drs. Fugate and Macrine will describe the difference between embodied learning and more traditional theories of learning; present research to support the effectiveness of embodied learning; and offer strategies for psychologists, adjunct instructors, and faculty members to employ embodied learning with patients and learners at every level.

Technology & Entrepreneurship in the Practice of Psychology: Ethical and Legal Considerations - Jennifer Sweeton, PsyD

Dr. Sweeton will discuss how Psychologists can utilize knowledge and expertise they already possess to diversify their careers in values-driven ways, freeing them to be more present during the one-on-one work they do with clients. Dr. Sweeton will highlight important legal and ethical considerations in expanding or changing professional practice. Intermediate and advanced learners who have considered starting or expanding a practice, building a presence as a trusted expert in mental health, or making use of technology to expand their professional horizons will benefit from this presentation.
