Sheila Swearngin - MoPA Representative

Sheila Swearngin, Ph.D., CEDS, is the current Missouri Psychological Association representative to the Greater Kansas City Psychological Association. Dr. Swearngin has been involved with the GKCPA Executive Board for more than 15 years, serving on various committees, and in the roles of Program Chair (2004-2005) and Past President (2006).

Dr. Swearngin is a licensed psychologist in both Missouri and Kansas, working in private practice and a Certified Eating Disorders Specialist, specializing in the treatment of eating and related disorders, body image, athletes and sport related concerns, and chronic health issues. She has been in practice for more than 20 years, providing individual, family and group therapy. In addition to her role with GKCPA, Dr. Swearngin is involved with several other professional organizations, including the American Psychological Association (APA), the Missouri Psychological Association (MOPA), the Kansas Psychological Association (KPA), the Midwest Psychological Association (MPA), the National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA), the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (IAEDP), and the Academy for Eating Disorders (AED).
