  • Students enrolled in a graduate program in psychology are welcome to attend this presentation at no cost. If they attend the entire presentation, they will be granted free student membership to GKCPA through June 30, 2023.

This program will provide attendees with an introduction to incorporating aspects of performance and symptom validity into their everyday practices.

Presenter: 

Dr. Chad Brownfield

Dr. Chad R. Brownfield, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical and forensic psychologist, who has extensive experience working in the criminal justice system and currently operates his own private practice in the Quad Cities metropolitan area. He has been qualified as an expert witness and primarily conducts forensic evaluations for the court such as fitness/competency to stand trial, mental status at the time of the offense, and psychosexual risk. Additionally, Dr. Brownfield evaluates individuals for a variety of referral questions including disability/service eligibility and pre-employment suitability of public service candidates. Dr. Brownfield has a passion for teaching and is an Assistant Professor at Augustana College providing courses on counseling and psychopathology. He graduated from Fielding Graduate University and completed his internship for the Bureau of Prisons at the Federal Medical Center in Rochester, Minnesota. After graduating, Dr. Brownfield was a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Kane County Diagnostic Center before being hired on as staff and serving as a primary supervisor for the training site for several years.

Objectives:

  • Describe the essential components of malingering.

  • Identify various response styles to evaluations.

  • Describe various symptom validity and effort related tests as well as their detection strategies

LOCATION: Zoom Meeting. Attendees will receive the meeting link in their emails. 

The deadline to register is 6 PM on March 30th.

COST: Free for GKCPA members and Students. $15 for nonmembers/guests.

This is only approved as a live, interactive CE presentation. Participants will have the same physical presence expectations through video that would be required for in-person events to gain CE credit.
