This session is designed to identify ethical and practice-related areas involved with providing psychological services across jurisdictional borders.

Presenters: 

Mariann Burnetti-Atwell, PsyD, ASPPB Chief Executive Officer

Mariann Burnetti-Atwell, PsyD, serves as the Chief Executive Officer for the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards. Before assuming this position, Dr. Burnetti-Atwell served as the Senior Vice President of Behavior Health Services for the national correctional healthcare company, Corizon Health. For the 15 years prior to that role, Dr. Burnetti-Atwell provided behavioral health and administrative leadership to the State of Missouri in a variety of leadership roles within the Departments of Corrections and Social Services. In addition, she served on the Missouri State Committee of Psychologists through the appointments of two Missouri Governors.

 

Janet Orwig, MBA, CAE in her position with the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards (ASPPB) serves as the Associate Executive Officer, Member Services and PSYPACT Executive Director. She is responsible for monitoring state regulatory and legislative actions and overseeing member services including the Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT).    Her 26-year career in association management includes experience in customer service, public relations, advocacy, strategic planning, leadership development, grant management and project and program management. Janet earned her Paralegal Certificate and Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Huntingdon College and her MBA from the University of Phoenix. She is also a Certified Association Executive.

Objectives:

  • Learners will be able to identify 2 potential ethical and practice-related areas involved with providing psychological services across jurisdictional borders.
  • Attendees will be able to describe what an interstate compact is and one example of a compact
  • Learners will be able to describe what PSYPACT is and 3 things that it allows psychologists to do in order to ethically and legally practice according to regulations.
  • Attendees will be able to name the status of 10 participating states with respect to PSYPACT and upcoming dates of implementation

LOCATION: Zoom Meeting. Attendees will receive the meeting link in their emails. 

The deadline to register is 6 PM on April 20th.

COST: Free for GKCPA members and Students. $15 for nonmembers/guests.

This is only approved as a live, interactive CE presentation. Participants will have the same physical presence expectations through video that would be required for in-person events to gain CE credit.
