Missouri Senator Razer

Presented by Dr. Leah Barreca

Receive 2 CE's

2:00 - 4:00 PM

Therapeutic Assessment (TA) is a semi-structured, brief psychological testing approach used to help patients understand themselves better and find solutions to persistent problems. TA uses traditional testing instruments to explore personality and emotional functioning to help patients develop a more accurate, compassionate, clear, and useful story about themselves and the world. While TA shares some characteristics of a traditional psychological assessment in diagnosing disorders, planning treatment, and assessing the effectiveness of treatment, its primary goal is to facilitate positive change over the testing sessions and beyond. TA is highly individualized and collaborative, and has been shown in a series of research studies to have positive impact on clients. Key concepts and theories will be presented including the TA Model and Core Values. We will discuss how TA can enhance your work with patients.
