This program will compare past findings with more research noting key cultural and contextual factors associated with client progression in therapy, dropping out early (“premature termination”), as well as research associated with deeper engagement for clinicians. The program will include discussion of client, clinician, and contextual factors to help provide clinicians ways to engage difficult cases with special attention to nuances within recent research.

The program will include a section on “less common factors” researched in psychotherapy which appear to have an impact on client improvements (and regression) in therapy. Last, research-informed suggestions related to preventative measures for well-functioning therapists will presented. Time for Q&A will be made as well.
