This workshop will focus on adapting evidence-based psychotherapy through an expanded case formulation that accounts for racialization, discrimination, and acculturative experiences. This expanded case formulation will inform treatment implications. Several case studies and case exercises will be used to demonstrate applied, practical adaptations.

Dr. Nancy H. Liu
Nancy Liu, Ph.D. is an Associate Clinical Professor at UC Berkeley with expertise in adapting evidence-based psychotherapy for diverse populations. Fluent in Mandarin and Spanish, she is a former Fulbright Scholar and WHO Consultant.
Objectives:
1) Identify 3 assumptions of evidence-based psychotherapy that may have limited applicability for diverse populations.
2) Describe 3 practical modifications/additions to a standard case formulation that accounts for racialization, acculturation, and discrimination.
3) Demonstrate and apply these 3 practical modifications/additions to a standard case formulation.

COST: Free for GKCPA members and Students. $40 for nonmembers/guests.
This is only approved as a live, interactive CE presentation. Participants will have the same physical presence expectations through video that would be required for in-person events to gain CE credit.
