Carolyn Karr - Treasurer

Dr. Carolyn Karr is a licensed psychologist who practices at the Kansas City VA Medical Center. She primarily conducts psychological evaluations that provide evidence for compensation and pension reviews. Dr. Karr also works part-time in her private practice, and in this setting conducts psychological and neuropsychological evaluations for children, adolescents and adults. Her research interests are in the areas of neuropsychological deficits associated with trauma and substance abuse, cognitive fatigue, mild cognitive impairment, and self-efficacy as a tool in rehabilitative outcomes.

Dr. Karr earned her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at Iowa State University. During her years in training, she completed her pre-doctoral internship in Clinical Psychology at the Cincinnati VA Medical Center, with an emphasis in Clinical Neuropsychology. She has also completed post- doctoral residencies in Rural Clinical Psychology and Neuropsychology. In the past, Dr. Karr has worked in hospital, community mental health, substance abuse program, forensic, and university settings.
